Homelessness

In the city of Chicago, homelessness is a growing epidemic. The families here are facing homelessness  by the hour. The housing here is becoming more expensive by the day. Due to greed and corrupt politics, families are being forced to move out of their homes they have owned for over 20 years or more. The taxes here are so high families are being forced to sell their properties or loose them by going into foreclosure because they cannot afford to pay the increasing taxes. After this happens the politicians line pockets and lay off workers and give their political benefactors pay raises. In the city of Chicago this has been going on for years, when will the low-income and homeless families be heard. Crime is happening here because all of the resources in the low-income communities are drying up and causing the violence to spew out into the streets and harm innocent people. If you take away all a person has they have no other choice but to take it back. Violent offenders do not care about who they are hurting, in their minds they just want the same things other's have. Please people think about it the more you take from the poor the more problems are being caused for innocent people who do not understand what it feels like being poor.

Hi Belinda! Is this project connected to #FeedTheStreets? Is it started/led by young people? Thanks so much!

Sorry I did not read the entire email this story is not a part of feed the streets. It was just a story we wanted to share about challenges the students face here.
