Adair County Crisis Team

A Peacemaking Project by Karen S.

What is the injustice we are solving?

Adair County is a small rural community that needs a crisis team. Local schools are 15-20 miles from police stations and need trained teams to provide security for schools.

Hi Karen,

We wanted to let you know that we are extending the deadline for active projects to apply for a Mini-Grant during this Peace First Challenge to April 15th. You can apply for a mini-grant anytime, but meeting the Challenge deadlines will make you eligible for additional opportunities.

If you do not require a mini-grant to complete your project, you can remain eligible by completing your project and Reflection before the May 31st deadline! If you submit your project plan by April 15th, we'll be sure to provide you with feedback by April 21st to support you with carrying out the plan.

If you are still in early stages of planning, you are also welcome to apply for a mini-grant at a later date -- although you may not be eligible for some of our larger opportunities, the opportunity for funding and support is always there.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and if we can help in any way!

Best,
Adrian

Hi Karen!

Thanks so much for posting your project -- we are excited to have you as part of our community. Creating safe communities is so important and I'd love to hear a bit more about your project. It sounds like your community is under resourced -- can you share a bit more about the injustice you're addressing and about what you mean by crisis team?

I'd encourage you at this stage to check out some of our tools that might help you articulate your injustice to others and then explore the root causes to create your compassionate insight -- which is the next step! The more energy you put into exploring root causes and how the injustice impacts different people, the more you'll be able to create a sustainable a solution. Here are some tools that can help:

Let us know how we can help!! :)
