A Peacemaking Project by Benjamin C.

What is the injustice we are solving?

I live in a coal mine town and the government is not doing anything to plant trees and clean the air. The citizens deserve to have a better air quality. Even though the mining stopped 20 years ago the smell and the air quality is poor. According to the last air quality check, Kosovo has the worst air in the world. I believe together with old vehicles, war and others the air is this poor.

Thanks for sharing your project with Peace First community, Benjamin!

Since you are at an early stage of your project, it would be great if you can spend some time exploring the root causes of the issue!

We would encourage everyone who is at this stage of their project to work towards deepening their understanding of the injustice they're focusing on. Thus, it would be great to use the problem and solution tree to discover the root causes and consequences of your chosen injustice, which will guide you to more solutions. Here are some resources on how to do that:

Also, make sure to write your compassionate insight and make it as clear as you can, so that other Peace First members would understand it better! You can use the compassionate tool here:

You would need to get started now to be eligible for a mini-grant. Thanks again for sharing your project with Peace First members, and we are looking forward to your next steps of the project!

Please let us know if you need any help with this!

The project involves 20 volunteers to plant trees on the flat rooftop at the Municipality of Mitrovica. This is the first project of a kind and it will be the reason for all Municipalities in Kosovo to plant trees on the rooftop to support environmental awareness and tree and grass planting. Last and most important, this project will receive national and international attention through social media, news, radio, tv.
