We're all equal in the end

A Peacemaking Project by Marie Belle S.

What is the injustice we are solving?

Violence and discrimination against LGBTQ people in schools appears to be a widespread problem in the world. Studies have shown that this prejudice and bullying adds an additional layer of risk on top of other psychological factors which can lead to depression, anxiety and suicide. ‘We’re all equal in the end’ project aims to promote respect and implement tolerance in the classroom by demonstrating empathy and compassion through words and actions.

Our Compassionate Solution:

To solve this injustice of LGBTQ discrimination
we will address The intolerant school climate
by Standing up to bullying and hate

Hi Marie Belle! Do you have any updates on your project? Do you have any specific idea on how to solve the discrimination towards LGBTQ? Please share with us.

You would need to get started now to be eligible for a mini-grant. Thanks again for sharing your project with Peace First members, and we are looking forward to your next steps of the project! :)

Hi Marie Belle, thank you so much for sharing your project and the video! We are very glad to see projects from Lebanon. Is this project part of organization or initiative? Please tell us more about yourself!

As part of the process of completing peacemaking projects, Peace First staff give formal feedback on important steps of the project. One of those steps is the compassionate insight.

The injustice that you are trying to solve is very clear, but I would encourage you to work a little bit more around the root causes of the issue and the solution. We would encourage everyone who is at this stage of their project to work towards deepening their understanding of the injustice they are focusing on. It would be great to talk to other people in your community and try to understand their perspective of it or other people who are trying to solve the same justice or/and people who are already working to solve this injustice.

Something that would be helpful to craft/ discover the root causes and consequences of your chosen injustice are to use the problem and solution tree to discover the root causes and it will guide you to more solutions. Here are some resources on how to do that: https://www.peacefirst.org/understand-through-compassion

Please let us know how can we help you :)
