At my university we worked to change mental health policy on the school syllabus. Most school syllabus have a ADA statement but very few have a clause for mental health. So we worked with university staff and faculty to install a new statement on the school syllabus. This helps gain awareness because now every time the syllabus is read in a university classroom students here about the resources and it includes a number for the suicide prevention hotline as well as the crisis text line. If you need an example or want more information, feel free to reach out to me!
Have you had any success reaching out to other students in your school? It would be great for example to organize a focus group to see what ideas they might have that they think might work for them to get more interested in this area. This is definitely a topic that should have a lot of interest but maybe one that some might have trouble talking about.
