I’m Amit, I’m 18 years old and I’m from Los Angeles California.
Young people are severely underestimated. That there is something about the color of our skin, or how big we are, or how unathletic we are, or how we’re just not that smart. But in working with young people for 4 and a half years I have realized that young people are the most aggressive, assertive, angry, passionate, exciting, and incredible forces of change that we have.
There is a group of millions of young people, 13 to 18, who are excited, who are ready, who are engaged. And I think that we need to collaborate, that we need to come together, that we really are stronger together. And each of us what we already have, what we already have inside of us to do something, then we can spark a movement.
And I think it’s important that we take it upon ourselves, that it is no longer about blaming other people for our problems. It’s about taking accountability and responsibility for the deep injustices that exist in this world today and say “I will do something about it. That I will be a peacemaker. And we’ll do it together”. And that’s the best thing that we can do.
I’ve talked to young people from around the world, and I know that we are ready to change the world as peacemakers, today.
So if you feel powerless, if you feel like there is saremany problems in the world and you cannot solve them all, but you care, but you have passion, you have love, you have empathy, and you genuinely want to change the world, then join me, join us.
Accept the Peace First challenge, identify an injustice, imagine a solution, and we will help you turn that solution into a reality; and together, maybe we can change the world.
