#BeInconvenient – Fight like your world depends on it
Last week, Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power” hit the box offices. This comes a decade after his original documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth,” was released and warned the world about the climate crisis. With global warming and climate change, scientists have determined that the Earth’s temperature has gone up about one degree Fahrenheit in the last 100 years. It may not sound like much, but small changes in the Earth’s temperature can have big effects, such as rising seas and the destruction of coral reefs and fisheries.

In the past ten years, the world has made great progress in the fight against climate change. Clean energy is more affordable and practical than it’s ever been, and it’s slowly replacing fossil fuels in more and more places around the world. The film highlights our progress but also calls attention to how much more work is still ahead. While providing hope and expressing urgency, “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Powerrings the alarm loud and clear, calling on all of us to fight like our world depends on it.”
After the first film was released in 2006, former Vice President Al Gore created The Climate Reality Project to train the next generation of organizers and activists. Their goal is to help spread the word all over the world about climate change and solutions to the climate crisis. The project and film acknowledge that “we can all make a real difference in the fight for climate solutions, no matter how old we are, what we do, or where we live.”
