Becoming a Change Maker : Achieving the SDGs and Creating a Sustaining Peace.

A Peacemaking Project by MARVELOUS E.

What is the injustice we are solving?

My project will focus mainly on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. I want to see a society where children are not left on the street but they're well taking care of, sent to school to learn and well nurtured. In Africa, many children are not in school and I feel that lack of proper sensitization to this children about the importance of education is one of the major contributions to this ugly situation and I plan on hosting events that will properly help children in their studies and having a good IT Knowledge. In addition, I want to create more awareness on Sustainable Peace by teaching and sensitizing people within my community the core values of peace and Justice. I want a society where peace and Justice is respected and women rights are not neglected! A society where the government is responsible to the citizens and accountable for their actions. Also, I have always demonstrated great interest in building a greener community and waste management being one of the problems facing my community today, I plan on hosting more events and taking actions that will address this issue through provision of more Bins and encouraging recycling thereby creating a sustainable environment.

Our Compassionate Solution:

To solve this injustice of Quality Education
we will address The issue of exploitation of teenagers and infringement of children rights to quality education
by Sensitizing the public through social media, magazines and news media

Welcome to Peace First, Marvelous! Thanks for sharing your project with us. Where are you based?

I have noticed from the title of your project that you want to achieve the SDGs, which is really great! However, there are 17 Goals that we all are trying every day to achieve through our work! You highlighted the education issue in Africa, maybe, this could be your starting point to work for the SDGs, as the Quality Education is # 4 goal on the list!
Then, you spoke about Peace and Justice, which is Goal # 16 "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions" on the SDGs list!

I would encourage you to think again about the name of your project and to be specific about the Goal that you want to focus on as part of the SDGs :)

Once you are specific about the issue that you want to solve in your community, please make sure to write your compassionate insight and try to make it as clear as you can, so other Peace First members would understand it better.

It would be great if you can chat with Mohamed from Egypt, he has a project regarding the SDGs - Maybe you both can brainstorming ideas:

Thanks again for sharing your project with Peace First members, and we are looking forward to your next steps of the project!

Please let me know how can I help.
