Harmonizing Humans

A Peacemaking Project by Rachel Q.

What is the injustice we are solving?

As a whole, we will come to an understanding of others, and respect the differences we have. We will be reminded that no human is better than another. We can appreciate our world for what it is.

Our Project Plan:

Goals

  • Find peace within ourselves
  • Expand compassion for humans and living things
  • Become selfless
  • Ask individuals what the following words mean to others: peace, harmony, compassion, selflessness
  • Ask individuals how they think they can act out peacefully
  • To leave each individual knowing that they can either take or leave what is learned

We will increase my / our compassion by...

Knowing that us humans exist as a whole, and by becoming selfless.

How will you show courage?

How will you collaborate with others?

I will get the input of individuals on the topic peace, compassion, and harmony. I will remind others how to be compassionate and harmonize with all humans.

How will you know you are moving in the right direction? (What are specific ways you can measure your impact?)

No matter if others give or take what I have to offer, I am in the right place. I don't know what direction I'm being led towards, but my mindset is to focus on the fact that others will be impacted no matter what by this project, whether or not they believe so. It may be negative or positive, or neither.

Key Steps

  • Ask others their input on the project and ideas of the project
  • Ask how others act peacefully, or do not act peacfully
  • Think of how to incorporate the ideas of others into peacemaking

Hi Rachel! I wanted to let you know about the opportunity to apply for a mini-grant to support your work if you require funds for any materials you need to carry out your project! You can apply for a mini-grant at any time, but if you need one, we'd encourage you to apply by April 15th to stay eligible for additional opportunities! If you don't need a mini-grant to carry out your project, you can still be eligible for those opportunities -- and we will provide feedback on your plan soon.

To apply for a mini-grant, you'll first need to create your compassionate insight through your project dashboard. There are tools that can help you come up with a specific injustice you are working to address, its root cause, and how you will address it (which together make up your "insight")
https://www.peacefirst.org/projects/harmonizing-humans/dashboard/compassionate-insight

You may also want to make some changes to your project plan to make sure that you have clearly articulated the action you will take. These tools can help (especially the SMART Goals tool): https://www.peacefirst.org/plan-your-project

Once you're ready, if you decide you do need some fundings, you can apply for a mini-grant using the mini-grant application form from your dashboard https://www.peacefirst.org/projects/harmonizing-humans/dashboard.

Best of luck carrying out your project!

Hi Rachel! I just wanted to check in. How are things going, and how can we help?

Rachel, great to see this project! I love the optimism and how deeply you've thought about your goals. It's awesome that your first step is to turn to other people and get their thoughts. How compassionate!

We have an interview tool to help you get the most out of the conversations -- and then some planning tools to help you turn what you learn into action.

Let us know how we can help you harmonize humanity! :)

Hi Rachel! My name is Fish and I'm on the Peace First team, and I'm here to give you feedback on your project plan.

First, before we can move your plan forward, we need you to create a compassionate insight - a statement sharing the problem you hope to solve, the root cause of the problem, and your proposed solution.

I also think you can use that opportunity to revise your plan. What I like best about your plan are the powerful, thoughtful, inspiring goals, and the commitment to working closely with others to understand their needs and ideas. I recommend you start doing that work of hearing what others need now, so that you can submit a revised plan with some concrete steps (based on your conversations with others!) about the actions you can take to increase peace, compassion, and harmony. I'd be happy to brainstorm some ideas with you, if that would help!

Thanks for the work you're doing. I think you have a wonderful vision and we are excited to help bring it to life. Let us know how we can support you!
