A Peacemaking Project by Megan S.
What is the injustice we are solving?
Nowadays human rights are being discarded all the time and put to the side because of politics, politics has nothing to do with the people we are. Maybe it does have a say in what we believe in, but it doesn't change who we are as people. We should be able to live our lives with the views we have but not let that have a say in how we are treated. This is why I believe we should make a stand against politics and show that we still have our human rights even with the different views each and everyone of us has.
Our Compassionate Solution:
To solve this injustice of Human rights violation. This is due to the politics and the politicians focusing on other things before helping their own people. Person to person. Their process is always through politics why not focus on the actual human beings who are being violated against.
we will address How to help people in need locally, nationally and internationally. This is because all around the world people are being violated by people in power and others around them.
by I want to help this by first getting attention and publicity about this issue. Then focus solely on face to face interactions with the people in need. Who knows your neighbors might be having their human rights violated and you don't even know.
Our Project Plan:
- Move politics to the side and think of Humans First.
We will increase my / our compassion by...
We want to help people that have not been able to have a voice in a time when they need it most we want to help every single person by creating a evolution for Humans First
How will you show courage?
We want to campaign and get attention to try and show the world who we are so that we can do the hard work and help people who have been in the shadows.
How will you collaborate with others?
We would work with amnesty international and other main Human Rights organisations but also work with politicians. Yes, politics even though we want to put them to the side we need the help from them to understand our whole idea of Humans First.
How will you know you are moving in the right direction? (What are specific ways you can measure your impact?)
Humans first need attention in the way of leaflets campaign rallies and talks from people in power so that we know that they want to help us to help people in need.
- Get the message out there. On social media.
- Create a website dedicated to giving information and a help line for people needing advice.
- Make leaflets and put them out there so that more and more people see and hear us.
- Send a letter to politicians who we can involve to help with our message.
- Set up a campaign rally with speakers to educate more people about our evolution in the making.
- Go on a local radio show to talk about how we want to make a voice to help people.

I'd love to understand more about the problem you want to work on. I totally agree that human rights are being discarded all the time. Where do you see that happening in your community? What are some of the ways people's human rights are violated?
Once we get clear on that, I think the next step is to start talking to folks who are affected by the problem -- and maybe even causing it -- to understand what would fix this culture of disregard for people's human rights. I think that this will help us come up with a concrete solution. Here's a tool to help you with that: https://www.peacefirst.org/resource/understand-1-talking-others
By the way - I just wanted to say that I think it's really awesome that you want to work with politicians even though you believe politics is part of the problem - that instinct to cross lines of difference is amazing.

How is everything going? I am commenting here for two reasons :) First, we are so glad to have you in our community! Supporting you and getting to know your ideas to solve human right violations has been such a fantastic process.
Second, you are so close to getting a mini-grant! Actually, you have only one step left to get the funding. I invite you to fill out and submit the budget template so we can send the mini-grant your way.
If you have doubts on how to fill out the budget template, let me know! I will be happy to help. You can also check our budgeting and planning tool here https://www.peacefirst.org/resource/plan-3-planning-and-budgeting.
We are hoping to see you back on the platform soon!
