Infringement of the rights of LGBT people in our lives

A Peacemaking Project by Elizaveta A.

What is the injustice we are solving?

Nowadays LGBTQ people are treated with hatred and disgust. I think that this is unfair and I want to tackle this problem.

Our Compassionate Solution:

To solve this injustice of infringement of LGBT people
we will address equality of all people
by infringement

Our Project Plan:

Goals

  • Show that all people are equal

We will increase my / our compassion by...

We are sorry for the LGBT people who suffered physical pain from homophobes.

How will you show courage?

Defenders of LGBT will intercede for LGBT people in case of attack or public humiliation, and violence.

How will you collaborate with others?

We will unite and we will help each other and others in a difficult moment.

How will you know you are moving in the right direction? (What are specific ways you can measure your impact?)

People will begin to understand that stereotypes have grown old and will accept the fact that LGBT people do not differ from us in any way.

Key Steps

  • 1. Combine with other LGBT defenders.
  • 2. We will offer our assistance to LGBT people.
  • 3.Help them cope with homophobia.

Reflection:

How did the project deepen your team's understanding of the injustice?

The project gave us to understand how this is, are afraid to leave home because of baiting

How did your community change as a result of your project?

We began to understand each person with understanding.

How many people were impacted by your project?

8

Explain how you came up with the number of people impacted by the project?

I realized that we are all people and we are all equal to each of us, this is the main thing.

How did your team learn more about the people affected by the injustice?

I told them about the injustice to LGBTQ people.

What did your team learn?

We learned mutual understanding and support.

What challenges did your team overcome?

We overcame contempt on the part of our peers, but we coped.

How have you involved others in designing, carrying out, or expanding this project?

I told the purpose of our idea and the people themselves wanted to help.

Our Updates:

Our help

Elizaveta A. 24 March 2018 17:08 We helped the guy on the street, his nose was broken and I went to ask what happened to him. He was beaten by local homophobe. We urgently went to the police, and this guy is now on our team.

Hi Elizaveta, Please see below what you need to work:

1. Could you please share more in the "What is the injustice we are solving?" section about how is the issue/situation in your community? and how is the community dealing with the LGBTQ people?

2. It would be great to try to make your insight as clear as you can! Thus, we would encourage everyone who is at this stage of their project to work towards deepening their understanding of the issue they're focusing on. It would be great to talk to other people in your community and try to understand their perspective or other people who are trying to solve the same issue or/and people who are already working to solve this issue. Please make sure to re-write your compassionate insight and make it as clear as you can, so that other Peace First members would understand it better! You can use the compassionate tool here: https://www.peacefirst.org/resource/understand-4-compassionate-insight

3. Also, it would be great to use the problem and solution tree to discover the root causes and consequences of your chosen issue and it will guide you to more solutions. Here is the tool on how to do that: https://www.peacefirst.org/resource/understand-2-problem-and-solution-trees

I hope this is useful! Please let me know if you need any help with this.

Welcome to Peace First community, Elizaveta! Thanks for sharing your project with us.

As part of the process of completing peacemaking projects, Peace First staff give formal feedback on important steps of your project. One of those steps is the compassionate insight.

Could you please share more in the "What is the injustice we are solving?" section about how is the issue/situation in your community? and how is the community dealing with the LGBTQ people?

It would be great to try to make your insight as clear as you can! Thus, we would encourage everyone who is at this stage of their project to work towards deepening their understanding of the injustice they're focusing on. It would be great to talk to other people in your community and try to understand their perspective or other people who are trying to solve the same issue or/and people who are already working to solve this injustice.
Please make sure to re-write your compassionate insight and make it as clear as you can, so that other Peace First members would understand it better! You can use the compassionate tool here: https://www.peacefirst.org/resource/understand-4-compassionate-insight

You would need to get started now so you can apply for a mini-grant. Thanks again for sharing your project with Peace First members, and we are looking forward to your next steps of the project!

Please let us know if you need any help with this!
