A Peacemaking Project by Mohamed N.
What is the injustice we are solving?
I want to see everybody with no fear regardless of your religion.
Our Compassionate Solution:
To solve this injustice of Islamophobia
we will address Negative Stereotype of Muslims, Identity Crisis of Muslim Youths
by 1- Talking to Community Leaders and Parents to empower youth of pursuing their Dreams of being valued in the Society. Talk to youth in our community about Islamophobia and get their feedback for any concerns they might have.
Our Project Plan:
- Empower Muslim Youth to be and stay productive citizen by reminding them that History tend to repeat itself, use paragraph in the Quran for how to deal with difficult time.
- Teach non Muslims about our peaceful religion.
- Explain on how 1.6 billions muslims worldwide are part of world puzzle solver( Muslims are doctors, scientist, researchers, engineer( my mom is a manager and an engineer) ,
We will increase my / our compassion by...
1- Being more open to discussion with non Muslims, by giving examples of Islamophobia negative impact. 2- Giving some examples : Example a: A 14 year boy named Ahmed Mohamed in Irving, Texas, with dreams of becoming an engineer, wanted to show his teacher the digital clock he'd made from a pencil case, but end up getting punished, after the school called police for his arrest. It was really sad that the teacher took the wrong impression of it. The words from Ahmed was : "I built a clock to impress my teacher but when I showed it to her, she thought it was a threat to her." Example b: My name is Mohamed, I am a muslim, I am 13 years, I love Pizza, I love to play soccer , I love to play Chess, Scrabble....., I want to be a scientist when I grow up if Allah will. 3- By explaining that islam legacy has been always against s bigotry .
How will you show courage?
1- By remaining peaceful and sharing my experiences in Islam. 2- By explaining than 1,6 billion muslims are not Tumors of the world. ( Muslims are scientist, doctors, Physical therapist , psychologue , mothers, housekeepers, teachers, scholars, business owners, fathers et.... Accusation is tough and ISIS has much to do with Islam as KKK has to do with Christianity. Somebody else action should not turn 1.6 Billion muslim from a citizen to a suspect.
How will you collaborate with others?
Create a forum for youth from different religious background to talk about their experiences. Example of forum questions(subject to change): 1- Do you know a Muslim? 2- What do you think about Islam? 3- Do you have a Muslim friend? 4- Can you help a Muslim? 5- Can you wipe a Muslims tear? 6- Do you think that it is OK to Discriminate Muslims?
How will you know you are moving in the right direction? (What are specific ways you can measure your impact?)
By the feedback received from Non Muslims.
- Open discussion with other youth from different religious background
