A Peacemaking Project by Khristian M.
What is the injustice we are solving?
My project aims to raise awareness and fight against the violence, discrimination , and lack of mutual respect for a misunderstood spectrum merely guilty of being themselves (For example, Transgender individuals).
Our Compassionate Solution:
To solve this injustice of Violence & mistreatment of people merely guilty of being themseves
we will address The lack of representation and awareness of our misunderstood spectrums of people.
by Educating contemporary society on the world's versatility. For example , I plan on organizing educational events, press releases, and much more in order to ensure that no spectrum will go unnoticed in the mainstream normative.
Our Project Plan:
- Increase representation
- Increase contemporary society’s understanding
- Fight injustice for justice
- Fight for security
- Fight for place of belonging
We will increase my / our compassion by...
Ensuring that absolutely no one , no spectrum is excluded from the fight for awareness, representation, and change.
How will you show courage?
By not being afraid to take initiative, to be assertive , to question , to speak up , and to stand up.
How will you collaborate with others?
I plan to meet , and connect with those who may be interested in contributing to such a momentous cause.
How will you know you are moving in the right direction? (What are specific ways you can measure your impact?)
When heavily oppressed communities/spectrums, such as transgender individuals, are able to experience a greater sense of security in a country they refer to as home.
- Collaborate with others interested in the cause
- Coordinate different strategies for this project
- Organize a variety of events , press releases , etc. Ex. Advertise creative shirts to help facilitate awareness

Thank you for being a peacemaker! We reviewed your mini-grant application and at this time your team was not approved for a mini-grant. However, don’t give up! We provided you with some feedback on your application so that you can revise your project plan and re-submit your application.
As a quick reminder, the mini-grants are intended for you and your team to get started on your peacemaking journey so that you can complete projects within the next three months. Through the application, you must be able to demonstrate how the project is a peacemaking project (uses courage, compassion, and collaboration) and that you can realistically complete the elements of the project you are asking for funding for within the given timeline.
The project plan did a great job at sharing some of the ideas you have to address such an important injustice.
The project can be strengthened by (please make these changes in the revised application):
Providing some clearer steps that you want to follow over the next 2-3 months to move your project forward. At the moment you are saying that your plan is to "For example, I plan on organizing educational events, press releases, and much more in order to ensure that no spectrum will go unnoticed in the mainstream normative."
It would be super useful if you can give us the decision that your team has made for one action that you will definitely take in the next 2-3 months. Your mini-grant was related to printing T-shirts but it would be great if there were some clear steps on what would happen next.
1. I will identify 3-4 people to work with
2. We will work together to design the t-shirts
3. We will print the t-shirts
4. We will conduct a series of meetings where we will discuss our next steps and raise awareness of the injustice we are trying to address.
These are just example steps. You can share with us whatever steps you want to follow but we would just like to understand better what you are planning to do.
It will also be important to understand how you know you are being successful. You are mentioning that you want participants to "be able to experience a greater sense of security". How do you measure that? Do you want for example to ensure that you work with at least 20 folks and maybe do a simple survey where you can ask them if after the activities you run if they are experiencing a greater sense of security? And your goal might be that at least 50% of them experience a greater sense of security and then try to learn how to make that indicator even higher.
We will send you an email as well to answer any questions that you may have before re-submitting your mini-grant request.
Thank you again for being a peacemaker. We are looking forward to seeing your revised mini-grant application!

Thanks again so much for posting this project.
As part of the Peace First project-making process, we give formal feedback on your compassionate insight. Once your insight is all set, then you can move forward with your mini-grant application if you need funds to help move your idea into action!
I want to give you feedback on your insight:
"To solve this injustice of
Violence & mistreatment of people merely guilty of being themseves
we will address
The lack of representation and awareness of the subject matter
Educating contemporary society, and encouraging others to acknowledge the world's versatility"
It is great to see how you are wanting to address a very important issue.
For the insight, it would be really good if you were able to explain a little bit more the injustice you are trying to solve and in particular, explaining your current understanding of the root cause of "Violence & mistreatment of people merely guilty of being themselves". Could you elaborate on what you mean by "subject matter". Could you also elaborate on what do you think it could look like to work on "Educating contemporary society, and encouraging others to acknowledge the world's versatility" - are you planning a workshop, an event, or something different?
Looking at some examples of projects that we have identified as having strong insights could be a great way to brainstorm how to make your insight stronger. Some ideas that come to mind:
Also, we encourage you to use our toolkit which we believe could make your project even stronger: https://www.peacefirst.org/resource/peacemaker-manual
We look forward to hearing more!
