Recycle Homlessness

A Peacemaking Project by Christe H.

What is the injustice we are solving?

Our Library Lords and Ladies Service Group is making plarn (plastic yarn) for a group of crochet-ers who use the recycled plastic bags as "yarn" for the mats to keep our homeless off the ground and warm. The mats are lightweight, easy to travel with, resist dirt and vermin, are easy to wash and dry, and make an insulated layer from the ground for those who don't have a place to sleep. The mats also make great blankets on cold nights.

Hi Christe -- this seems like an awesome project! Is it youth-led? (I ask because we can provide specific support to youth-led projects.)
