Hello! I am a student from New York and I love the idea and intention of this project! I had similar concerns about hunger and food poverty and recently joined the Food for Thought project, and you should check it out! We are trying to establish a "pay it forward" method in pre paid public school lunches to help with struggling families who need a little hand in helping to pay for their child's lunches. We found we are also coming across the issue of how to raise awareness. I think a really good idea may be to try to reach out to schools and talk to any principals, deans, head of schools etc. about holding assemblies for hunger awareness or even just putting posters up. Students minds tend to be the more open and I think spreading the idea through schools may help spread it though the community. I hope your project works out and I cannot wait to see how your goals on their way to being completed! :)
Hi! I am from Leominster Massachusetts where I started my own nonprofit to help children whom suffer from child hunger. I started my nonprofit 4 1/2 years ago now. I provide food to 400 children in my local community every week of the year. I started to spread the word but writing into the newspapers and just by word of mouth. I really like that you are passionate about this issue, as it is also really important to me. Once your community is on board and aware of this issue, a change will start. I wish you best of luck!
