One of the best ways to raise money is to approach local business as/ well as places like Chiptole, Ben & Jerry, insomnia cookies to name a few always provide an opportunity to raise money for your cause as well as encourage community members to learn more about your cause, when they come to local benefit nights

Hello - what a great question! How did you figure out that an event was the best way to address your injustice? (Taking a look at some the Understand Tools might help you generate even more ideas!). Do you know others in your community who've done an event like this that you could go talk to?

Another thing you could do try to even raise awareness is to talk to some of the students who are suffering for a form of mental illness. You could try to help them with little things they need, like if they aren't in a class that is a little bit stressful or anything like that. You don't just have to try to raise money to help, you and say a group of friends could get together and actually work with your peers, this way you can connect with them on a more personal level.
