Campus Ambassador: Alyssa of the Laramie Project Project
Alyssa is one of the founders and leaders of the Laramie Project Project and has been an active member of the Peace First community for over a year. Check out how her use of the Peace First Challenge platform strengthened her project and provided logistical and, more importantly, emotional support.
“It’s physically, emotionally, and spiritually tough to be an advocate. Something that Peace First has gifted me that will carry through every future project of mine is this sense of joy when it comes to taking action.”
Looking to combat violence (in all of it’s many forms) against LGBTQIA youth, Alyssa found using her passion for art and theater as the most effective way to take action. Her project, the Laramie Project Project, unites the productions and readings of Tectonic Theater Project play and encourages community-based LGBTQIA advocacy.
“The team has encouraged me to stick with my passionーtheatre and arts advocacyーbecause when I am connected to what I love, I see its potential to change the world.”
