So, I am a jewish woman, mom, wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, activist, teacher, student, therapist, volunteer, and a plethora of other things. Those are "things." And my heart is full with hope because I do what I can to contribute to the greater good. But when it comes down to it, when I think about what I want to radiate from my soul, it is kindness. Not just being nice. I mean true kindness. If you are kind, you cannot have hate in your heart. You cannot devalue other humans. You cannot discount the injustices. You cannot sit by and watch the horror that continues to transpire in this country - and gets worse every single day. If your exude kindness, you must not be only for yourself. You cannot think, "Thank God it's not my child." You cannot be blind to ignorance or racism or sexism or daily acts of unnecessary violence. You will never regret being kind. Please start with one simple act of kindness. Can you imagine if we all did one act of kindness every day?! I will keep imagining...
Hi Cindy! Thanks so much for posting this project. I love the thoughts you're sharing about kindness and compassion. Are you hoping to work with any young people 13-24 on a project, or to support their work in some way? Let me know if you'd like to think together about this more. :) Adrian
