Last Sunday, we celebrated Women’s Equality Day here in the U.S. It marked 98 years since the 19th Amendment was passed which granted women the right to vote. In honor of women’s equality, Stephen Curry (an NBA star with the Golden State Warriors) wrote a personal piece advocating for women’s rights. He has been strongly motivated by his daughters and his vision of a bright and just future for them.
"I want [my girls] to grow up in a world where their gender does not feel like a rulebook for what they should think, or be, or do. And I want them to grow up believing that they can dream big, and strive for careers where they'll be treated fairly. And of course: paid equally." ~ Stephen Curry via The Players' Tribune
Curry is advocating for women’s equality and speaking up to help close the pay gap between men and women. He recently hosted a basketball camp with 200 girls and is always striving for gender inclusion in his activities.
