Sofia M.'s Profile
Even though I am blind and have medical issues, I don't let that stop me. I am a kind hearted person who loves to help others, be with friends and travel. I lost my vision in 2011 because I have Batten Disease. Instead of being sad at all my disability has taken away, I use it to make good things happen! When I couldn't find a pageant that worked for me in my state.....I created one! Now in its fourth year the Washington Shining Star Pageant is going strong. The pageant is for specially-abled girls Kindergarten- age 30. This year we had over 43 girls come from around Washington State!
My latest project is Fun-Filled Friday. The idea here is to create a fun and safe gathering for those with special needs. We would have a movie, activities, and of course food! It would give everyone a chance to have fun on a Friday night!
